Wall Sandwich Panels(墙体夹芯板) are used for vertical cladding of buildings. They provide thermal insulation, aesthetic finishes, structural enclosure, and often serve as the visible façade.
Design & Construction
-
Panels are attached to girts (horizontal support members) or structural frames.
-
Joint systems could be open, hidden, or overlapping, with appropriate sealing to prevent air and water infiltration.
-
Core thickness in wall panels is often less than roof panels (e.g. 40 mm, 60 mm, 80 mm), though for high-insulation buildings thicker panels are used.
-
The facing layers may have decorative coatings or profiles (smooth, ribbed, stucco, wood-imitation, etc.).
Performance
-
Thermal insulation: helps reduce heating/cooling demands.
-
Sound insulation: some combinations of core/facing can reduce noise.
-
Fire rating: for walls high fire rating is often required; using mineral wool cores or fire-retardant cores is common.
-
Aesthetic flexibility: wide range of colors, textures, and profiles.
Applications
Used in industrial buildings, warehouses, office buildings, retail complexes, schools, and any building requiring a controlled interior environment. Wall sandwich panels often integrate with roof panels to provide a seamless envelope.
